We wanted to share a small update and also say thank you for the love and concern surrounding Barry and our family. Right now, Barry isn’t able to have visitors as he focuses on rest and recovery, and we’re trying to keep his days as calm and predictable as possible.
So many people have asked how they can help, and while we may not always be able to respond right away, please know it means more than we can say. If you’re hoping to support from a distance, some things that would be especially helpful right now include cards or notes, short messages or voice memos, prayers or good thoughts!
Your patience, understanding, and continued encouragement are a tremendous gift to us during this time. We’ll share updates as we’re able, and we’re so grateful to be surrounded by such a caring community.

Barry’s Latest Health Update

Health Update
Barry has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Over the holidays, he spent several days in the hospital with pneumonia, during which doctors also discovered heart complications. He will now be under the care of both a pulmonologist and a cardiologist for ongoing treatment.
At this time, the family is waiting to learn more about the stage of his heart failure, which has become the primary concern. The cancer is currently considered secondary. It is not yet safe for Barry to undergo the biopsy needed to move forward with oncology care, but the medical team is hopeful this can take place toward the end of the month.
